As well as the facilities available in Lochmaddy there is a local shop and post office at Clachan, just a short drive from Locheport.

The site offered for sale extends to approximately ¼ acre on which Outline Planning Permission was granted in September 2008 for a single dwelling house. The planning permission has recently expired and interested parties should contact Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar, Planning Department for advice on renewal of same. Although electricity and water are believed to be in the vicinity it will be for purchasers to satisfy themselves as to the availability of these services. The plot is located adjacent to the Locheport Township Road from which the access to the site is to be taken. The site is Decrofted.
